As men and woman alike all across the globe begin to assess their necessities for their upcoming trek into Colorado's high mountain terrain , on their quest for a success full Elk hunt. There are a few vital area's of concern that need addressed, and given consideration.
The main areas that need to be taken into account when planning any success full hunting expedition are:
1st and foremost when hunting in Colorado's high mountainous region is a high quality selection of Survival Equipment. In making your selections always keep in mind weight. Your survival kit should be lightweight but must include all the products needed for at least a 3 day event. Colorado's climate can change within minutes, temperatures can change by 30-65 degrees in seemingly a matter of moments. So be prepared.
2nd and equally as important is your choice of clothing and foot ware. Because of the possibility of extreme temperatures, it is necessary to dress in layers. Dress for warmth in the morning and dress comfortably, especially in your choice for foot ware.
3rd - plan to have enough food and beverage provisions with you in order to maintain your energy and survival. Dry goods are best for emergency and have a full canteen of water handy.
4th - Your choice of weapons for the hunt and personal protection. Including knives, hatchet, and sidearm
