Web Chess Mercantile Features Tournament Chess

Web Chess Mercantile introduces their new feature, a tournament chess page that will feature world class players from across the globe.

The first featured tournament is the Arctic Securities Chess Stars tournament that is currently being played in Norway.

"Anytime a chess tournament involves the World Chess Champion and the world's #1-ranked player, you know you have something worth watching. Sure, the Arctic Securities Chess Stars tournament is just a rapid event, but with Viswanathan Anand and Magnus Carlsen involved, the results are bound to generate a little more interest than normal."

"The tournament, taking place in Kristiansund, Norway, also includes Judit Polgar and local talent Jon Ludvig Hammer, making it a nice little double round-robin tournament."

"Now, Hammer and (especially) Polgar are hardly pushovers, but there's no doubt as to who the favorites are here."

"Anand and Carlsen won each of their games today against Polgar and Hammer, while drawing each other, sending both of them out to an impressive 2.5/3 start. Meanwhile, the other half of the field is already more or less out of contention, as both Polgar and Hammer stand at 0.5/3, having only scored a draw against each other."

"The second day of the round-robin portion of the event will be played tomorrow. After that segment is concluded, the top two players (at this point, very likely to be Anand and Carlsen, of course) will play a two game mini-match for the title on Monday, while the 3rd and 4th place players will also take part in a consolation match."       ( courtesy of Edward Scimia, Chess Guide)

You can follow the tournament play on the Featured Tournament Page , Web Chess Mercantile would like to thank Mr Scimia and the editors of ChessBomb for their contributions.

Thank you for reading

The Art of Playing Chess in Art Form, now at Web Chess Mercantile

We here at Web Chess Mercantile are always looking for ways to add to your world of chess. Recently we added a featured page on Chess Art for your viewing pleasure.

The World of Chess is constantly changing and there is no better way to see the past , present and the possible future of the game than in the creative reflections of artists that share a common passion for the game. Through the artwork you are able to see the love and attention that players give to the game of chess.

When ever a person plays a game of chess , some times it become necessary to  think outside of the box to use a common paraphrase, I personally think that as with human nature, that the side that a person feeds grows. So if you feed your creative side...

Pondering...

We aim to  provide a broad range of artwork, that challenge the imagination, and bolster the creative energy that flows in each and every one of us.

The 12 Second Commute Community Completes Modual 3 of The Challenge

What is happening within the 12 Second Commute

Module 3 of The Challenge-Building  Backlinks-Creating an auto-publishing network

On Thursday of last week the members with in the 12 sc community that are following The Challenge, completed module #3 and had the next 3 days to put final touches on the work that had been prescribed by Mr. Ed Dale and the other members of The Challenge.

The work began with article writing exercises, taking a set amount of time to research for your Challenge niche, then taking a set amount of time for writing your amazing new article. The criteria was established by Mr. Ed Dale himself

We then were to set up an Ezine Magazine account and submit the article with their help.

The Video Tutorials that the folks at The Challenge go into great detail so that there is little room for error on the students part. a very concise overview of Ezine was given.

The next section of the module dealt with establishing back links and an auto-publishing network, making sure that the student's personal profiles were established properly and the placement of urls was insured. When all of this is completed it will aid in the personal branding of an individual.

We set up profiles and blogs at: Squidoo , Posterous , Identica , LinkdIn,Facebook,Twitter,Tumbler,LiveJournal, and Xanga

For me personally all of this signing up was a difficult chore, not so much because of the work involved, it is just that since I have been working online  signing up for various things has become a personal taboo. I have gotten myself into some willy dilly messes, but knowing and trusting my mentors I persevered and completed my duties.

The final task to complete was in posting a personal original composition using our email account, and post@posterous to all of our freshly created back link sources.

After working out the bugs that mostly I created the system given by Mr. Ed Dale and his team within The Challenge performed remarkably well and is a credit to modern technology.

Thank you for your time and to your own personal success

Sincerely

Terry Ritschard
